NewVember - Meanless & Breathless

01. Tell Me Why
02. Insanity '99 (remix)
03. Ninety-Three
04. Mornow
05. Breathless (Trance Mix)

Another addition to the rising synthpop resurgence, NewVember mix in a bit of chill-out techno with their bubbly electro-pop, adding a touch of different character to an old sound. The synthetic strings that make occasional appearances are a nice touch as well.

NewVember manage to infuse enough sonic twists to suggest a slightly different take on synthpop, though their sound is certainly not breaking any ground. Insanity ’99 (remix) is decidedly in the mold of Images In Vogue, or Alphaville. The rest of their demo really does little to diverge from that sound, with the worst being Ninety-Three, a weak pop track, and peaking with the more experimental Mornow, which infuses a darker atmosphere with some watery electronics.

Meanless & Breathless presents a band that, should they increase their more unique traits and downplay the traditional synthpop, could potentially offer a distinctive face in the genre.
