NewVember: "Meanless & Breathless"

Debut demo release for this Berlin based duo, this demo features five tracks in a very familiar style of German Synth Pop, not that´s their anything wrong with that, but this demo is similar to early De/Vision and Wolfsheim, pure mid-paced Synth Pop with a melancholy edge, drawing the similarities with Wolfsheim and also an excellent vocalist in Michael Pallin. For me the best track here is the mid-paced and at times slow-ish "Insanity´99", a track that shows the excellent dry vocals of Michael Pallin, another track standing out is the Trance Mix of "Breathless", all do its not Trance in the style most would be more familiar with, it´s a more mid-paced track with a catchy edge especially on its chorus. Another excellent track is the more mid-paced "Mornow", which builds to a rhythm based almost Kraftwerk like finish. The remaining tracks "Tell me why" and "Ninety-three" are also very good tracks, "Ninety-three" with its shifting and shuffling percussion, reminding me of Automatic in there days as Dead Eyes Open.
